People of Color <br />in US Face 66% More <br />Air Pollution, Says New Study The analysis was <br />conducted by the Union <br />of Concerned Scientists. It combined data from <br />the 2018 Census Bureau <br />with 2014 data from the <br />Environmental Protection Agency. It found that, on average, <br />African Americans are exposed to <br />61% more tiny pollution particles from burning gasoline than white residents, Asian Americans are <br />exposed to 73% more, and Latino Americans <br />are exposed to 75% more. This pattern is referred <br />to by activists as <br />"environmental racism." Researchers focused on <br />particulate matter pollution that <br />enters the bloodstream and <br />has been linked to disease.
